Apple’s dominance of the technology industry shows no sign of wavering as the company unveils better than expected sales figures.
Figures published yesterday showed that second quarter sales of the company’s products rose by 43%, while overall profits were up by 36%.
In the quarter, which ended on March 29th, the company sold 2.29million Mac computers, up 51% on the same period last year, thanks to improvements to the product line.
Elsewhere, Apple saw a 1% rise in the sale of iPods, which shifted 10.6million units in the second quarter, and improved sales of its iPhone.
Apple are expected to unveil a new iPhone software upgrade this summer which will improve the products corporate email functionality.
The company believe they are still on track to achieve their target of selling 10million iPhone’s by the end of 2008, with current figures at 5.4million.
