Kate Nash is experimenting with a new punk sound for her second album, a well placed source has told Gigwise.

The singer, who shot to fame last year with her piano-laced debut ‘House Of Bricks’, is understood to be in the process of recording demos.

Speaking exclusively to Gigwise, our source, who didn't want to be named, said that two new songs had a "very punk feel”.

Nash has already expressed a wish to play drums in a new band because she likes to "beat it all out".

As previously reported, the singer is due to appear at this years Get Loaded In The Park Festival in August alongside Iggy & The Stooges.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now and available through Gigwise by clicking here.

Alternatively, you can call our ticket hotline on 0871 230 1098 for more information.

Would a punk Kate Nash be good? Or is she just trying to be a version of her boyfriend, Ryan Jarman of The Cribs? Let us know what you think below...

  • The thing with Kate Nash’s music is that it is very contemporary and of-the-moment. As a consequence, she will inevitably have to keep changing her style to remain a fresh (and successful) contributor to British music.

  • it’ll be jokes to hear her try out other stuff but she is reconised by her own style and voice, she might fuck it all up a bit. you never know though, mystery jets made huge changes in their new album as did the strokes years back and they are both well successful. lets see what happens aye.
