Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek has revealed that the band have an albums worth of demos ready for Pete Doherty when he is released from prison.
Speaking exclusively to Gigwise, Ficek said that the new material was already completed before Doherty was jailed two weeks ago for breaking his probation order.
“We’ve got an albums worth of material ready, obviously it’s going to be out on Parlophone again. So that’s all going ahead, that’s all fine,” the drummer explained.
“We’re just on a bit of a hiatus waiting for him to come out and then probably when he gets out we’ll just get together and do a few shows I expect.
"We’ve got loads of festivals so we’ll be writing and trying to craft the new songs live.”
Ficek said that Doherty’s immediate focus will probably be the completion of his debut solo record when he is released.
“I think that’s a priority of his to get the solo record done so that he can concentrate on the Shambles again,” Ficek said.
Doherty's 14 week sentence means that he has had to postpone a solo show at the Royal Albert Hall in London later this month.
Speaking the Gigwise earlier this week, Ficek revealed how the band had come to deal with tabloid speculation around their frontman.
