Paul Weller has launched a scathing attack against the Glastonbury Festival - including the people who go to the event.
Speaking to the BBC’s Music Week, the former Jam frontman noted how the audience had changed last year compared to his previous performance in 1994.
"The difference between doing it in '94 and doing it last year, was that most of the audience knew the greatest hits, whereas in '94 they were music fans,” Weller said.
”You didn't just have to do the greatest hits, that was very noticeable to me."
Weller also attacked the festivals conditions over recent years, branding them “disgusting.”
“I don't know how people can... I mean you'd have to be off your box just to stay there for three days wouldn't ya?"
I'm not a big lover of festivals at the best of times, I like proper gigs... and it's just really corporate now isn't it?"
What do you think about Paul Weller’s comments? Is he right to attack the festival? Leave a comment and let us know...

- is it just a coincidence that Wellers’ teamed up with Noel Gallagher for his new album ?

I think the fact that Paul Weller has gone shit was probably the reason he had to play his ’hits’. All large festvials have to be corporate, there’s to much organisation involved. He’s right about the conditions, but that’s like any festival if it rains. Wakestock, Glade were all washed out last year too.
- Basically Paul Weller’s an idoit. Obviously people are only going to know his greatest hit because his most successful were released decades ago before most of the festival crowd was born probably. I don’t see bands like muse and radiohead just having to play there hits at festival, but maybe in 10 or 20 years time they might have to.

- Paul Weller’s a prat. He obviously hasn’t a clue about why people go to Glastonbury. It’s certainly not to listen to people like him.
