Bloc Party DJs will are amongst the acts confirmed for the first ever FuturePerfect music and arts festival in Durham City this summer, it’s been announced.
Pendulum, Zero 7 and Layo and Bushwacka will also play sets at the event – which will take at the University’s Racecourse on June 8th.
The inaugural event has been organised to raise money for four charities, including Oxfam and the local Butterwick Hospice.
Speaking about the event, organiser Gareth Owen said that a buzz was already growing amongst students in the city.
“It’s incredible; the event has got a real end of term party feel to it,” Owen said.
“We haven’t even put up any posters yet, but there seems to be a real desire for something like this in the North East.”
As well as live acts, the festival will feature street performers, book readings, storytellers, jugglers, stand-up comedy, dance workshops and a selection of international cuisine.
A limited number of early bird tickets are available for £25.
