The Kooks have gone straight in at number 1 on the UK album charts with their new album, ‘Konk’.
The band’s second album fought off competition from Duffy, whose debut album ‘Rockferry’ fell from 1 to 4 in the chart.
Elsewhere in the album countdown, Mariah Carey’s new LP, ‘E=mc2’, entered at number 3.
And Leona Lewis’s debut album, ‘Spirit’, climbed back up the charts to number 2 thanks to her chart double in America.
In the singles chart, Madonna claimed the thirteenth number UK single with ‘4 Minutes’, which features Justin Timberlake.
Alex Turner and Miles Kane’s new outfit, The Last Shadow Projects entered at number 9 with their debut single ‘The Age Of The Understatement’.
