Morrissey has had a cheeky dig at comedians David Walliams, Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross, saying they will never be able to master his audience.
The Mozfather had to cut short the Friday night show of his Camden Roundhouse residency earlier this year due to throat problems. The trio of comedians, who were in attendance, took it upon themselves to get up on stage and announce the bad news to the audience.
Underestimating the crowd, they were roundly booed off, with some audience members even throwing their plastic cups at them in anger.
In an interview on Russell Brand’s Radio 2 show, Morrissey explained why the three were so poorly received, saying: “You assume that all audiences are the same, you can master one audience, you can master anybody's... my dear friends in the seats are often very aggressive.
“The point is, that every audience is not the same... just because you're a whizz on Opportunity Knocks and things like that... doesn't mean that you can conquer...”
Before Brand interrupted: "Not your crowd, certainly not!"
