Motley Crue and Def Leppard are set to go head to head as the first bands to release singles via computer games.
First up the Crue have released ‘Saints Of Los Angeles’ today (April 15) through Rock Band.
The track is available now to download from Microsoft Corp's Xbox Live Marketplace for 99 cents and will be available via Sony Corp's PlayStation store on Thursday (April 17).
Def Leppard will follow them on April 24 when they release ‘Nine Lives’ though Guitar Hero, a week before it is available to download elsewhere.
Speaking about their release Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott said, “Being involved with Guitar Hero is very exciting for us and adds a whole new layer of appreciation.
“I know from personal experience how much more you get into the music by playing the game – which is why we were keen to explore this opportunity.
“Guitar Hero is extremely popular with all kinds of music heads, which includes a lot of our fans – and we think releasing ‘Nine Lives’ this way first is just fantastic."
