Blood Red Shoes: Jay-Z Will Be Great At Glastonbury
Blood Red Shoes have defended Jay-Z’s headline slot at Glastonbury, saying it could be the highlight of the festival.
Despite Oasis’ Noel Gallagher today very publicly lambasting Glastonbury for making a hip-hop act top of the bill, BRS’ Steven Ansell says that it’s perfect for the event.
He said: "To be honest, I would rather watch Jay-Z than The Verve. Jay-Z is going to go up there and he's going to be the smoothest dude that's ever walked the stage. It's going to be great."
Asked by the BBC whether he believes Jay-Z is to blame for the fall in interest of this year’s festival, Ansell quickly snubbed the idea.
The drummer continued: "That's complete crap, I call it 'rockism', there's like racism, sexism, rockism. If it doesn't have guitars then it isn't credible. That's bullshit."
