A topiary sculpture of the former Beatle Ringo Starr has been beheaded by vandals in Liverpool.
The sculpture, which depicts the whole band in mid-performance, was officially unveiled at Liverpool's South Parkway in March.
Starr, the band’s drummer, was the only Beatle vandals touched in the incident.
Earlier this year Starr angered some Liverpool residents with comments he made on a chat show which suggested he no longer missed the city.
His comments came shortly after he opened Liverpool's reign as European Capital of Culture for 2008.
The topiary feature of the Fab Four was created by Italian sculptor Franco Covill and took 18-months to cultivate into the band.
