REM have knocked Duffy from the top of the album chart with their first record in four years, ‘Accelerate.’
The band’s 14th studio album, their first since 2004’s ‘Around The Sun’, ended Duffy’s four week reign at the summit.
Leona Lewis in her 21st week on the chart was at three with ‘Spirit’, while Nickelback’s ‘All The Right Reasons’ and Onerepublic’s ‘Dreaming Out Loud’ were at four and five respectively.
New entries came from Estelle with ‘Shine’ at six, Gnarls Barkley’s ‘The Odd Couple’ at 19, Snoop Dogg’s ‘Ego Trippin’ at 23, Gabriella Climi’s ‘Lessons to be Learned’ at 31 and Black Keys’ ‘Attack & Release at 34.
The yawnfest that is the singles chart saw Estelle retain top place with ‘American Boy’, The Kooks debut at three with ‘Always Where I Want To Be’ and Mariah Carey’s ‘Touch My Body’ came in at six.
