John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono has given her support to Sir Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills.
In an interview with Sky News, Ono said that Ms Mills must "do her very best and try to survive" following her public divorce from the former Beatle.
"All I can say is it's not very easy for a woman to be associated with The Beatles,” she said.
"I think all the wives did suffer, and I think quietly suffer. Suffer but endured, I would actually say."
The settlement in McCartney and Ms Mills’ divorce was eventually decided by a high court judge after the couple failed to reach an agreement in private.
Ms Mills was awarded £24million in the settlement – which was substantially less than the £125million she had originally asked for.
Ono also acknowledged that the divorce proceedings must have been hard for McCartney as well.
"I'm very sorry for him to have had to go through all that,” she said.
"I haven't spoken to him about that but it's a subject which he probably doesn't want to discuss with other people."

- Yoko, needs to mind her own business.

- Do the words kettle and black come to minds?

- Ono’s only claim to wealth and fame cromes from her association to John Lennon. Mills’ only claim to wealth and fame comes from her association to Paul McCartney. Yeah, I can understand Ono’s ’sympathy’ towards Mills marrying a Beatle. You know what they say,”Birds of a feather, flock together”.

- yoko doesn’t suffer anywhere near the way we suffered when we had to listen to her singing, or squealing, or whatever that noise she made was! so now heather has yoko on her face, and they are so suffering, nothing a shopping spree won’t fix, temporarily.

- Notice, Heather, she mentioned the word ’quietly’...
