Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has been found guilty of drink driving.
The 33-year-old rocker was pulled over in Surrey, Canada back in June 2006 for speeding at 160mph in his sports car. When police pulled his over he was found to have a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
Upon appearing in court in November 2007 on the charges, Kroeger pleaded not guilty. His lawyer claimed that police carried out an illegal search on his vehicle, while his breath samples were also illegally obtained.
These claims were quashed by the Canadian judge last month.
Kroeger was not in court for the hearing yesterday, with his lawyer explaining he was in Europe with Nickelback. He’s due back in court on May 1 when he will be sentenced. It’s expected he will have to pay a $600 and will face a lengthy ban from driving.
