Gwen Stefani has confirmed that No Doubt have returned to the studio to record the follow-up to 2001’s ‘Rock Steady’.
The singer made the announcement on the band’s website, saying that she is “trying to write some new music”.
Stefani, who is expecting her second child, has launched a hugely successful solo career since the band’s last album but admitted that it was “great to be home with all my boys”.
“My favorite part so far is just seeing the guys every day and hanging out. We have so much fun together,” she said.
“The songwriting part is a bit slow on my part... I think it has something to do with the baby in my belly, but I'm sure it is all of the process, and I really believe this could be the most inspired No Doubt record so far.
“Can't wait to see what happens."
The as-yet-untitled album, which is being produced by Mark Stent, is expected in the first half of 2009.
A full tour in support of the project is also in the pipeline.
