Bullet For My Valentine are certainly coming of age. The pipe and slippers aren’t quite ready to be slipped into fashion with the black hair dye and tattoos yet though. Instead the Welsh outfit have picked up where they left off with ‘Scream Aim Fire’ and alleviate our yearning for melodic thrashing metalcore action with new single ‘Hearts Burst Into Fire’.
The opening is walking the big hair stadium, stand on top of an amplifier road, but then again why can’t we enjoy this every now and again. After all, the remaining 4 minutes provide something satisfyingly appetising. Simple as it may be, it’s smartly produced and the climax riff on riff exploitation echoes so powerfully it will have you reaching for that Argos catalogue for a cheap guitar, or perhaps just ordering guitar hero for your games console.
Released 31/03/08 on SonyBMG.
