Popstar Lily Allen’s TV series, Lily Allen and Friends, has been commissioned for a second series.
The TV show, which launched on BBC Three in February, will once again be based on a social-networking concept – where Allen’s ‘friends’ make up the audience.
The BBC said the number of 16 to 34 year olds that had watched the channel since Allen’s show launched had risen by 44% on the same period last year
Allen said that she was “thrilled” to be given the opportunity to make a second series, which will consist of eight episodes.
The singer had to defend early episodes of TV show after reports claimed that the audience had walked out.
Writing on her blog, Allen said that audience members had left to catch their last trains after filming overran.
