Patti Smith has entered the US Presidential debate, throwing her support behind Democrat hopeful Barack Obama.
The battle between Barack and fellow Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton has prompted support on either side from many musicians, but the veteran singer-songwriter has joined the majority by speaking out in favour of Obama.
She tells the Financial Times a Obama presidency “would be a nice thing for the world", as his “hands are relatively clean”.
