Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has praised the Internet for helping to make such diverse styles of music more accessible.

Jagger said that it was much easier than the 60s, when it was “very hard and very expensive” to get peoples attention.

“I don't remember because it was so long ago, but I remember it being very difficult to find anything that wasn't in the mainstream of top-selling music.

“Outside of that it was very hard to find things,” Jagger said, in an interview with Myspace.

Although the Rolling Stones singer admitted that it was easier for new bands not get noticed, he said that the competition was much tougher.

"How do you make yourself stick out?” he said. “Apart from being a brilliant musician, very good looking and a brilliant performer."
