Guns ‘N’ Roses have responded to the challenge from a drinks company to release their long-awaited new album before the end of the year.
Dr Pepper have stated that if the band release their new album before the start of 2009 every US citizen will be entitled to a free drink.
Responding to the challenge, Axl Rose, said: "We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album Chinese Democracy."
The album, which was last scheduled for release in March 2007, has been the subject of constant and mysterious delays. There is currently no updated release date.
In their challenge, Dr Pepper said that everyone “except estranged guitarists Slash and Buckethead" would receive a free drink.
However, in his message on the band’s website, Rose said that he would share his drink with Buckethead because he features on the album.
