Modest Mouse guitarist Johnny Marr has revealed that the band are “fired up” about the prospect of touring alongside REM on their US tour in May.
The former Smiths guitarist said that he was also keen to hear the band’s new album, ‘Accelerate’, live for the first time.
“It sounds petty good what I have hear of it so far,” Marr told BBC 6 Music.
Marr also elaborated on his recent collaboration with The Cribs, which he said would be finished when he returns from touring.
He added that people might see him make guest appearances with the band at festivals later this summer.
“If I am in England I will play with them at Reading, they are my favourite UK band, so it’s nice,” he explained.
