Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has blamed the festivals notorious bad weather for the fall in the number of people registering for the event.
Eavis downplayed claims that registration numbers were down on last year because of this year’s choice of headliners, which include Jay-Z.
"I'm sure it's because of the weather," she said. "People only remember the last festival, so if it was really muddy… I don't blame them, to be honest. Everybody needs a rest."
Eavis also revealed that when her father, Michael, made an announcement earlier this month that registration numbers were down there was a sharp increase in people signing up.
“They thought they'd have more chance,” Eavis told NME. “It went really well – I always worry about registration, I worry about whether people are going to come at all!"
Tickets will go on sale on April 6th for people who have registered for this year’s festival, which takes place from June 27th-29th.

- Last years mud left the site like a WW1 battlefield, I don’t blame people for not wanting to go back to that. Its all pot luck though and my bones tell me this year will be a heatwave......with lots of cider flowing!!
Can’t wait!

- You’re right Jay-Z isnt the person to blame its you for booking him!

- I agree about the Mud, the last three Glastos I don’t think I have even sat down its been that wet and muddy!!
Sun,Sun,Sun just like 1995 (?) when it was bloody boiling please!!
Can’t wait for this year, roll on June (And ticket day, fingers crossed)

What ever happened to not releasing the line up till the day? I don’t give a shit who’s playing, I’ll go every year I can get a ticket.
- The mud, the Wall, the over-inflated booze price, the registration process, the uber-commercial line-ups... Shame coz Glasto was once the only festival to be at.
