Corinne Bailey Rae’s musician husband has been found dead in Leeds following a suspected drugs overdose.
Jason Rae, 31, was found dead by police at a flat in the Hyde Park area of the city yesterday afternoon, with a 32-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said, "Police were called to a flat in the Hyde Park area of Leeds, where they found the body of 31-year-old man.
"As a result of inquiries a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.
"He has now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
"A forensic post-mortem was conducted, the results of which were inconclusive and we
are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests."
Saxophonist Rae was in Leeds to play a gig at the Hi-Fi club with his band The Haggis Horns, who have recorded sessions for several top artists, with Mark Ronson dubbing them the "best horn section in the world".
Grammy Award-winning singer Bailey Rae, 29, is understood not to have been with her husband at the time.
