Estelle's lyrics here are so bland it hurts. The chorus, which obviously gets repeated, is especially painful..."Take me on a trip, I'd like to go some day/ Take me to New York, I'd love to see LA." It's arguable whether Kanye does any better..."Just touched down in London town/ Bet they give me a pound/ Tell them put the money in my hand right now." The lyrics might be joyless, but at least you'll be able to dance to Will.i.am's beat. Daft Punk apparently vetoed his sampling of 'Around the World' a while ago, but he's come back well here, not giving up on the electro. 'American Boy' features a riff similar to Felix Da Housecat's 'Silver Screen Shower Scene', which is never a bad thing.
