Not just one, but two whole new tribute albums are planned to pay homage to The Cure in the coming months.
The first, from American Laundromat Records, will feature the Raveonettes, Frank Black's Grand Duchy project, Tanya Donnelly, and many more.
Titled ‘Just Like Heaven: A Tribute to the Cure’, it is due for release early next year.
Meanwhile Manimal Vinyl also plan to musically transform the polymorphous pop heroes, with a tribute project to raise money for Ugandan youth charity ‘Invisible Children’.
Featuring the Dandy Warhols, Cocorosie, Bat For Lashes and Blonde Redhead alongside many lesser known names, ‘Perfect as Cats’ will be made available on vinyl in the near future.
Coincidentally, The Cure are also mid-tour at the moment.
Tonight they will play Wembly stadium, before departing for North America.
