Lou Reed, the sixty-six year old Velvet Underground frontman, has revealed his favourite act from SXSW after the festival came to a close last night.
The veteran rocker was overheard by the NME telling numerous onlookers that Canadian electronica outfit Holy **** were ‘by far the best band’ he had seen all week.
It was Holy ****’s third year at SXSW, following their first Glastobury performance last year. The band have yet to attain international recognition on the scale of their latest fan, however.
Reed was one of a host of generational throw-back artists featured at the festival including Van Morrison.
He also delivered the keynote speech for this year’s festival.
