Spanning only just two minutes, despite punk’s self-announced death, The Elvis Suicide are still paying their respect and quite frankly, not giving a shit about image portrayal etc. ‘Surveying The Young Professionals’ is a Pixies-esque jaw-dropper of a single, crammed to the top with energy, muscle and passion. With a single bassline starting proceedings, the song suddenly turns into a full-frontal obnoxious frenzy a minute in, and the band don’t pay respect to the neighbours after that either. Bridging the gap between unlistenable rock and the radio friendly stuff, there’s something essentially raw and exciting to this band that’ll ensure they don’t go unnoticed.
Released 17/03/08.
