Former Stone Roses guitarist John Squire has told Led Zeppelin they should quit whilst they’re ahead and refuse a reformation tour.
Squire was in the audience at Zep’s triumphant London O2 gig in December, and thinks the performance was so great it should remain a one off.
He explains, “I went to see Led Zeppelin (and) I was blown away. The Clash in 1977 were probably the only ones who have topped that.
“I know it's selfish on my part but I would like that moment at the O2 Arena to be crystallised.
"I don't want to read reviews of mediocre Led Zeppelin gigs."
We reported earlier this week Robert Plant has nixed a £100 million offer for a world tour against the wishes of the rest of the band.
Squire himself is reportedly the abstainer from plans to reform the Stone Roses, as he has claimed to have quit music for good in favour of his new career as an artist.

- John Squire can **** off, it’s alright if you actually had the contacts and the money to see them at the O2 like that wanker but the millions others who would very much like to see them would like to get the chance as well.

- John Squire is a hero to many. If the Stone Roses reformed that would probably change. Led Zep put on a great show but I don’t think the Roses could after 10 odd years of not being able to even be in the same room.

- He’s right - it is selfish on his part! What about the rest of us poor saps who were not lucky enough to see the December show? Come on Robert, go for it. We don’t care if you can’t belt ’em out like you used to!

- this guy is a retard. I think he should quit being an artist. Sounds like he would be better planting roses.

- Some bands got it, and Zeppelin sure proved they still do, maybe this jacka&s is jealous. I know a reunited Stone Roses in the states would be popular at the barbecue rib fests, second to the ribs, while, hmm, Zeppelin could be in walkers and wheel chairs and still pack em in. Some people get it, others don’t. I’m like Cray, just seeing them together on stage, even on YouTube, was heavy, like some music fantasy come true.mediocrity? ’76, ’77, In through the Out Door,
