Pink Floyd producer and solo artist Norman Smith has died at the age of 85.
Smith worked on three of the Floyd’s studio albums including ‘The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn’, A Saucerful Of Secrets’ and ‘Ummagumma’.
He was also the engineer on all the Beatles recording sessions between 1962 and 1965 including their first recordings at Abbey Road.
Smith started work for EMI in 1959 and also had several hits of his own under the moniker of Hurricane Smith.
They included the 1971 track ‘Don’t Let It Die’ and ‘Oh Babe, What Would You Say?’ a year later.
