Mick Jagger 'Escaped Hells Angels Assassination Plot'

The Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger was to be the victim of a Hells Angels assassination attempt in the 1960s, it’s been revealed.

In a new BBC documentary, it’s claimed that Jagger fell out with the motorcycle group following the death of fan at their controversial Altamont gig in 1969.

The band had hired the Angels to provide security at the concert fearing that the free event could lead to chaotic scenes.

The Hells Angels are said to have hatched the plot after they were accused of the stabbing of 18-year-old Meredith Hunter during the concert.

In the documentary, ‘The FBI at 100’, which will be aired on BBC Radio 4 today (March 3rd), former FBI agent Mark Young says the Angels planned on killing Jagger at his holiday home in New York.

The programme’s presenter, Tom Mangold, told the Sunday Telegraph that the group “planned the attack from the sea so they could enter his property from the garden and avoid security at the front.”

However, the plot failed after a storm threw all the men overboard. It’s believed that no further attempt was made on Jagger’s life.
