    Ray Charles Tribute At Grammy Awards

    A tribute performance from Billy Preston and Bonnie Raitt will be performed at the ceremony in LA next month in honour of the blind musician, who died last June at the age of 73.

     

    According to bbc.co.uk, Ray Charles is nominated posthumously for seven awards, including Album Of The Year, for his collection of duets, ‘Genius Loves Company’, recorded shortly before his death.

     

    The album features his duet with Elton John, which is also included in the nominations for Best Vocal Collaboration.

     

    The epic career of Charles spanned more than 50 years, during which he made 250 recordings and won 13 Grammy awards.

     

    Ray’, the recent film based on his life and work, has collected a total of six Oscar nominations, including Best Actor for Jamie Foxx, who plays Charles in the biopic.
