Donna Summer is set to release her first album of new material in 17 years this May after signing a deal with Sony BMG’s Burgundy Records.
The disco legend has started work on a project that currently goes by the name of ‘Crayons’ with a long list of collaborators including Danielle Brisebois, Greg Kurstin, JR Rotem, Lester Mendez and Evan Bogart.
Speaking to Billboard she said: "My dream is that when people hear the music it will remind them of their youth, their childhood and the joy and wonderment they felt exploring their first pack of crayons."
The album will be released on May 20 and is Summer’s first featuring new songs since 1991’s ‘Mistaken Identity’.

- Should be fun. I will get it.

- I can’t wait!

- Donna Summer is awesome. I hope she gathers new fans to her fold with Crayons. I believe she will go outside of the box on this one. She does not like to be boxed in musically. She can sing it all.

- Actually, since 1991, she has released 3 full albums, had about 8 or 9 top Dance hits, won a grammy, and continually played to sold out crowds. They talk about her if she hasn’t been around. Many might not know that she became a successful painter, selling dozens of artworks she created for over $40,000 each! What a woman!!!! Her last release was in 1999, was a live album & DVD with about 6 new songs on it.

- I am looking forward to the new record. This is the first album of ALL NEW MATERIAL in 17-years - not including soundtrack work, a live CD, a few ”greatest hits” and ”Gold hits” and ”more hits” with a remix here and there.
When I say I cannot wait ... I mean that I CANNOT WAIT!!!
