Klaxons have benefited from spending a period away from each other, according to bassist Simon Taylor.
The band spent much of 2007 on the road and, according to Taylor needed a break before reconvening to record their sophomore album.
“After last year, we were just dead and we needed to stop and breathe and leave each other’s side for a little bit,” he told 6 Music.
When asked what fans could expect from the album, which the band are currently recording, Taylor described it as “heavy and delirious and a bit all over the shop.”
He added that, although they had spent longer apart than planned, they still planed to release the new material this year.
