Ray Davies has insisted The Kinks will only reform if they play new material along with their old hits.
The frontman says his guitarist brother has recovered well from his stroke in 2004, so much so he’s “playing again” and “getting well enough to shout at me".
However, Ray insists he will only consider the mooted reunion if the band get creative again.
He tells Billboard, “I can't get a band together just to play the old hits. They'd have to be able to do, like, 10 per cent new material.
“I think that will be the determining factor in the long run."
