Jaymay is a very young, very pretty singer-songwriter, writing about love, rejection and so forth. Yes. I know. Another one. ‘Gray Or Blue’, – she’s American, hence the spelling – is a likeable little ditty in the Laura Marling mould of bruised self-esteem mixing with knowing intelligence. The melody is faint, but the lyrics are elusive enough to intrigue. Basically, there’s nothing wrong with this, it’s just too crowded a market for it to break through currently.
