Bat For Lashes has hinted at a darker sound for her forthcoming album.
The singer-songwriter, real name Natasha Khan, begins work on the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed ‘Fur And Gold’ in New York next week.
She has moved to the Big Apple and will be collaborating with numerous New York acts on the record.
Speaking to XFM, she said: “I'm not gonna give away too much but it might involve like choirs and beats and electronics...so it's all gonna be a big mixture."
However, a departure from her trademark sound isn’t likely. “I don’t think it could be too wildly different because it always comes from the heart and that's coming from the same place but I think it's gonna be more visceral, a bit more beauty and possibly a bit more darker.”
The Brighton performer missed out at the BRIT Awards last night.
She was nominated in the British Female Solo Act and British Breakthrough Act categories, but the prizes predictably went to Kate Nash and Mika.
