Sir Paul McCartney says that he would have turned down his BRIT Award had it been called the Lifetime Achievement Award.
McCartney is due to perform a medley of hits at tonight’s ceremony in London – where he will pick up the Outstanding Contribution to Music award.
“I try to avoid those 'cause it feels like you're gonna die the next second so it's actually called the Outstanding Contribution," he told XFM.
It’s understood that The Wings’ ‘Live And Let Die’ will be among the songs on McCartney’s set list for tonight’s performance, with the former Beatle due to perform up to eight hits.
Tonight’s BRIT Awards will be presented by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne and for the second year will air live on ITV1 at 8pm.
