This is a funky, retro take that brings a luxurious groove and a laid-back attitude. Upbeat lyrics of little substance perfectly compliment the relaxed style of a jazzier offering from the Finnish electro plunderers. It’s catchy enough, and casually coasts into your consciousness. Its bouncy manner and horns do bring to mind the irksome work of Mark Ronson, but you can’t blame Pepe Deluxe for that. This is worth a punt, if only to chance something a little different.
Released 03/03/08 on Catskill Records.
