Editors drummer Ed Lay has cast doubts as to whether the band will be able to afford to tour in America in the future.
“I don’t know whether we can afford to," he said, when asked to reflect about the group’s recent US tour.
"As long as people still want us to come and play in America we will jump at the chance because the reaction is absolutely superb and the varied venues you get to play across that huge country are mind blowing,” he explained.
Despite the positive reactions during their recent American dates, Lay admitted that the group had seen worse than expected sales figures for their second album, ‘An End Has A Start’, which topped the charts in the UK.
“Nobody really is bothering with it but the live shows have been amazing, absolutely brilliant,” Lay told 6Music.
The drummer added that the American crowds had built their enthusiasm for their forthcoming UK tour, which will see them play a two night residency at the Alexandra Palace in London.
