Radio 1 DJ Grooverider has been sentenced to four years in prison in Dubai for cannabis possession.
The DJ was found in possession of 2.16 grams of the drug when he was stopped at Dubai airport in November last year.
Grooverider, real name Raymond Bingham, was most famous for his weekly drum and bass show on the station.
A spokesman for Radio 1 said that Bingham had “paid a very high price for a serious mistake."
He had claimed to have forgotten about the drugs when they were found in his pocket by airport security, reports the BBC.

As much as I dislike the guy and think he was a ****ing moron for doing this, The Yak’s comments are plain wrong - get your facts right first.
