The ICA Plans Special Events Around R.E.M's Royal Albert Hall Show

The ICA has announced details of a host of events involving R.E.M to go alongside the band’s gig at the Royal Albert Hall this spring.

As reported on Gigwise yesterday (February 11) R.E.M will play the London show on March 24 with tickets going on sale this Friday.

The gig is being held as part of the ICA’s 60th birthday celebrations and will see support coming from Robyn Hitchcock, Foals and The Duke Spirit.

As well as the how several other events will take place including an exhibition of R.E.M photographs taken by Steve Pyke running from March 22-24 in the Nash and Brandon Rooms of the ICA.

On the day of the gig there will also be a playback of the new R.E.M album ‘Accelerate’ at 11am followed by a screening of Vincent Moon’s film Six Days which will also feature a Q&A with Michael Stipe and the director.

Tickets for the daytime events will not be available to purchase but will be handed out to winners of a lottery which you have to be a member of the ICA to enter.

R.E.M release their new album ‘Accelerate’ on March 31 while the first single from it 'Supernatural Superserious' arrives on February 11.
