Pete Townshend has revealed that The Who have begun work of on a new album although not together.
Writing on his blog Townshend said that Roger Daltrey and himself were writing songs seperately for the follow to 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’.
He said: “Roger is working on his own idea for an album for us, with the producer T-Bone Burnett, who is an old friend of mine.
“I am hoping to come up with some songs for a more conventional Who record.”
He also says that although he doesn’t want to tour in the near future he would consider taking to the festival stages again.
He wrote: “I would want to do that [play festivals] purely for fun, and I don't want to turn it into a big tour. I need to stay focused on my writing.”
