Glastonbury main man Michael Eavis says that he thinks that Jay-Z will bring in the younger crowds to this year’s festival.
Having already booked Neil Diamond for the older revellers on the Sunday, Eavis believes that Jay-Z will be a perfect counterbalance and a “break from tradition.”
Eavis tells BBC Somerset: “He (Jay-Z) will appeal to the young people and under-25s for sure, so that's a big pull for them. It's not like the traditional one we do, like Radiohead, Coldplay and Muse and Oasis."
Elsewhere in the interview, Eavis says that he’s happy enforcing the tight security measures around the ticketing once again after a successful trial run in 2007.
He says: “It worked a treat. There's no touting or anything- people pay a fair price and it doesn't get inflated.
“Everyone's happy about that, including the bands. The bands don't like their show tickets going for double the money – they feel that they should get a part of that extra income so they're bothered about it as well.”
