The Accidental is the intentional in this case - the meeting point of the creative spurts of Stephen Cracknell (of The Memory Band, Gorodisch, co-founder of Trunk Records, and ex- Grantby) and the songwriter behind Tunng, Sam Genders. This pilot single from The Accidental's forthcoming album bends towards the sonic play-pen of Cracknell with 'Brave New World' featuring a Benge Remix where spiced vocals form sonic waves ala Kraftwerk X Four Tet / many an digi chill out artist, ironing the psyche's creases. 'Knock Knock' takes in a Tunng alt-folk remix hinting at the songwriting pairing, with Sam Genders wit working up a "What's the magic word?" mystique with vocals from Hannah Caughlin (Fence Collective's The Bicycle Thieves). A tantalising treat of only 500 7" vinyl copies!
Released 11/02/08 on Static Caravan.
