Coldplay are weeks from finishing their new album, according to a letter on their website.
The album, which they have denied is called ‘Prospekt’, requires another ten mixes and the re-recording of a complete song.
“In times gone by I would have set aside a month to re-record a track. However, the week before Christmas we recorded two tracks in four days – ‘Lovers In Japan’ and ‘Strawberry Swing’.”
The message on the website described the period of recording over Christmas, which also saw Chris Martin write two new songs, as “the most productive and exciting week we’ve ever had in the studio.”
It’s not yet known when the album, which has been produced alongside Brian Eno, will be released.
