Despite the T In The Park festival going from strength to strength, it was announced yesterday T On The Fringe has been scrapped.
The musical arm of the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival has being going for eight years in conjunction with sponsors Tennent's Lager and promoters DF Concerts, but the two companies yesterday announced they have decided not to continue with the venture, Scotland’s largest festival after T In The Park.
However, both hinted another festival will replace T On The Fringe .
DF Concerts’ Dave Corbet tells the Daily Record, "We are excited about taking the music strand of the Edinburgh festival forward in 2008 under a new name.”
George Kyle of Tennent's Lager adds, “Tennent's investment in music will continue at the same level and we are working on plans to delight music fans with genuinely innovative activity in the year ahead.
"We look forward to carrying on our productive relationship with DF Concerts on T in the Park."
All 40,000 ‘early bird’ tickets for this year’s T In The Park festival have already been sold.
