Damon Albarn has revealed that a day spent in the studio with Lily Allen failed to produce any material.
Albarn – who has enjoyed massive success with side projects since Blur’s last record – said the collaboration, which was instigated by their record label, was “a bad idea.”
“She came down to my studio and she said normally she would just sit around and listen to a musician and come up with some ideas,” he told the Sun
“I jumped on the piano and played some mad stuff and she just looked at me - it didn’t exactly go well. She’s a really talented kid but it was a bad idea.”
Since 2002, Albarn has gone on to launch the two side projects, Gorillaz and the Good, The Bad and The Queen, with huge commercial success.
