Just a year ago The Wombats were plying their trade to half-empty toilet venues. Today, they’ve confirmed that they’re to headline a one-off date at the hallowed surroundings of The Royal Albert Hall.
The trio announced the May 3 show after their previous London date at Brixton Academy sold out this week.
The special event, featuring a number of yet-to-be-confirmed support acts, will be the final date and pinnacle of their UK tour before they hop over the Irish sea for shows in Cork and Dublin.
Tickets go on sale general from 9am this Friday morning (February 1) and as always can be bought through Gigwise by calling 0871 230 1098 or by clicking the Buy Tickets link below. You can also get tickets to their remaining UK tour dates through us.

- What’s next?! Glastonbury headline slot?! What’s the world coming to?!

- No suprise. Let NME bum them for another 12 months then they’ll dissapear into oblivion.

- Two half decent songs, the rest are just ****ing annoying. They’re hardly a band to invoke the kind of atmosphere that will fill a cavernous room are they?!

- great band

- shut up u guys are wrong. there the best band in the last few years easyly!!1
