The Cribs bassist Gary Jarman has hinted that the band could release a full album featuring songs they’ve recorded with Johnny Marr.
The former Smiths guitarist joined the group in the studio in Stockport last week, and Jarman confirmed that the recording process had been more productive than expected.
"Well we don’t know what were gonna do with it yet, we never made a full decision originally, we were just like 'Let's just get together and play for fun'... we're buddies and it seemed like a fun thing to do,” he told 6Music.
"We wrote a song a day for the past week, we did like five days, we wrote four and demo'd them on the last day.
“We don't know what were gonna do now because Johnny was like, 'If we are writing this quick, we should keep getting together and get a record together'.”
Jarman described working with Marr as a “dream” and also revealed the prospect that the guitarist may join them for a series of live performances this year.
"It's been going well and it would be shame to cut it short, the original intention was to be doing an EP, its been great having a new member, especially when the new member is your favourite guitarist," he added.
