Arctic Monkeys second album ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’ has been awarded with the Pop Music prize at the South Bank Awards.
The album held off Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’, which was also nominated for the award, at a ceremony in London today (January 29th).
Control, the film about the life and death of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis, failed to pick up the award for Best Film, however.
Best Film eventually went to This is England, which also beat the Oscar nominated Atonement to claim the prize.
The South Bank Awards will be broadcast on ITV on February 3rd at 10.40pm.
