U2's Bono: Al Gore Is Like An Irish Priest To Me

U2 singer Bono has compared environmentalist Al Gore to an Irish Priest he can confess his “Gulfstream-flying rock star” ways to.

Bono appeared alongside the former US Vice-President at a press conference in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday to promote their respective anti-poverty and ecological campaigns, and gave a colourful account of their relationship.

He told reporters, “It's like being with an Irish priest. You start to confess your sins. Father Al, I am not just a noise polluter, I am a noise-polluting, diesel-soaking, Gulfstream-flying rock star.

"I'm going to kick the habit. I'm trying father Al, but oil has been very good for me - those convoys of articulated lorries, petrochemical products, hair gel.”

    • He’s such a hypocrite. When I see him giving away his money like Warren Buffet then I’ll believe he really cares, and isn’t riding this ”activist” thing to get free pub.

    • Is Bono secretly suggesting that Al Gore touched him inappropriately?

    • Why do so many people suck up to this generic, look-alike, sound-alike, garage-band alumnus? Yawn.

    • Well at least he is up front about it, and provides a bit of levity to a serious subject. Just to clarify, Bono have been involved in global causes since the early 80s and U2 have provide enormous sums of money to charities since they first start earning $$.
